Calco UK Web Services has deployed hundreds web sites locally and many more nationally and internationally.
The following is a selection of some of our local work.

It would be fair to say that most of our websites are designed by the clients themselves; in that they have told us what they want to achieve and what they want the website to look like. We have then made sure that Google will see the site and that the site looks good in the most popular browsers and can be read by Screen Readers so that people who surf the web but cannot see can understand the pages and get the information and products with the minimum of fuss.
The examples of website design include sites that are:-
- Designed to be EASY for the client to update themselves
- Designed, Registered, Built and SEO in a Day
- Contained hundreds of real pages (not database pages like Joomla)
- Contain copy that is considered to be almost poetry and images that are art in themselves
- Updated daily by Calco (e.g. image optimisation for critical selling strategies like estate agencies)
- Secure Databases with confidential data

IT Group International
IT Group International are specialists in ERP using Microsoft Dynamics NAV and as such required a website that would be easy to navigate, simple to update and has a fresh modern feel. The menu bar at the top of the page offers two click access to any part of the site, while the left menu allows for feature slots that promote popular pages or new products. Using SUSSed IT Group International can update the website safely whenever they like. The website is an interim step towards their global (mutipoint) marketing strategy.

Plockton Yacht Charters
The brief was to design a website that would perform well in Google and be visually appealing to customers. Time was of the essence and so the pages are designed in such a way that content can be quickly added without worrying about upsetting the structure of the page. The site relies on the fact that Plockton and the surrounding are is one of the most scenic places in the world and as such we used the images to sell the product. The use of text is primarily Who we are, What we do and Where we do it with pricing and specification for good measure.

Grainger Roofing Services
As leader in their field, Grainger Roofing required a website that instantly showed customers that their work is of exceptional quality, their client base were all household names and that the site be easy to use and be easy to update themselves by staff who had little or no experience of web technologies. The site was designed from scratch in-house and gives a different modern feel to the Construction Industry

Discover Islay
A graphical presentation of the Island of Islay, its people and heritage. The website pictorially represents Islay Accommodation, Whisky, Beaches with stunning local photography and crafted Gaelic / English minimal text. Navigation is also visual and designed to be simple but expose all aspects of Islay to the browsing public. Search Engine work on the site has not been overlooked even though the site is primarily graphical.

Bridge Parapets version 3
In version 1 (2000) The site ran in conjunction with
a CDROM brochure. Clients can connect to the web to
view updated specification and standards in Bridge
Parapet construction.
In version 2 (2007)we included Video
In version 3 (2009) (the current version) the site was re-designed from the ground up to highlight the quality of work carried out by the world leaders in Bridge Parapets.

An on-line holiday Brochure for
an Inn on the Island of Lewis. This site is an example
of an easily updatable web site that a growing number
of tourism orientated businesses ask for.

requires an easily updatable database that can be
accessed anywhere in the world. The non-public side
of the database can function as the basis of a company
intranet.

This site is optimised to view identically on PC style
computers or 'Macs' through the use of style sheets,

an image that reflects is commercial status and befits
one of the country's most scenic locations opposite

A good example of an extensible
web site. The site can be easily expanded or e-commerce
added easily. The site has a 'clean' feel and is free
from clutter letting the product images sell themselves.

feature on this web site. Although not graphically
intense, the subtle use of colour and key graphics
make this site easy to use.

Our brief ... to be able to access any of the information about any vessel in the fleet easily. We think the design which incidentally expands and cntracts according to the viewer's screen size, satisfies the brief in a minimal space.

Isle of Skye Estate Agency
A power web site at is very best! The site receives thousands of hits because of the rapid turnover of property on the Isle of Skye. The catalogue is lavishly illustrated with large photogrpahs of the properties for sale. Now in version 3, the website also has powerful mailshot marketing, a clean easy to use layout to make navigating and finding the properties easy and last but not least, exceptional input from the owners who make this website one of the most interesting websites around! Note that Calco do not cap badwidth or traffic on our servers so long as the site conforms to our AUP

The Tain Pottery have their entire
range of hand crafted pottery on-line and for sale
on this secure site. There is also a dynamic map linked
to a database back end which contains details of local
stockists throughout the world.

Journalists update the site weekly
to a deadline and publish the web site globally on
the same day the newspaper goes on sale. Features
